Two Chinese drivers have been investigated by police after allegedly racing each other on a street in bumper cars  Social media footage shows the two middle-aged men laughing at a passing motorist while sitting inside the fairground vehicles  They have been educated by traffic police. Share this article Share The incident took place on Saturday night in the city of Bijie in southern China’s Guizhou Province According to Chinese news outlet Passion News, the two men had allegedly been racing each other while smoking and laughing  Bijie traffic police launched an investigation on Sunday after noticing the footage on social media which had been widely shared   The two men said they had bought the two bumper cars (pictured) and had to take them home They wrote a letter of promise each, pledging to never drive bumper cars on public roads Police tracked down the pair on Monday afternoon in the city’s Qixingguan District  The two men, known by their surnames Yang and Chen, claimed they had bought the bumper cars that night, but failed to find any vehicle to transport them from Zhaoshang Garden to Tianhe Road, said police They also claimed they had no other way but to drive the bumper cars themselves.The police did not reveal how fast the bumper cars had been travelling Officers educated Yang and Chen orally. The two men said they had realised their mistake Each of them wrote a letter of promise to the police, pledging to never drive bumper cars on public roads again
