COLONY Season 2 Episode 2 “Somewhere Out There” Review

Hello everyone. The episode 2 “Somewhere Out there” finally
showed us how it all started in the first place, and I’m NOT talking about the Arrival
here. This episode starts with a bunch of scientists
who received some sort of signal from space. And they decided to send a signal back. My theory is that this was a flashback in
time. That’s how the Hosts knew that there was
another planet out there with life in it. It might have happened decades ago because
we learned back in season 1, that the Hosts had been monitoring humans for some time before
they made their move. Their attack was swift and they won very quickly,
mostly because as it was shown in the season 2 premiere, they had some humans on their
side. I did wonder how it all really started. I mean how did they contact those people and
formed “the Institute for Global Advancement” in the first place. Well, now we know. They might have appeared friendly at first
and then showed them what they planned for our planet or may be they brainwashed them
like Lindsay is doing with Gracie and Hudson. They probably showed them how those who collaborated
with them will end up being powerful. Once the organisation was formed, all they
had to do was, to get them to start recruiting people before the Arrival. Anyways, back to the episode, I was right
about things getting bad after what happened in season 1 Finale. The hosts have sent a new Proxy while Snyder
is still working as just another employee for them. I was actually scared that they’ll kill
him, but I am glad that they didn’t. He was still better than the new proxy. They are trying to bend humanity to its knee. It seems like they have shortened the food
supplies. A lot of people, including Katie, didn’t
get their food rations and they stopped by saying they will come back tomorrow. It seems like Katie is running out of food. May be they think if the humans are running
low on food and everything, it would be easier to control them, because the human priorities
will change. They will be weak and they won’t have enough
time to form a resistance. They’re really underestimating humans and
I am glad for that. The hosts are in for a surprise. Speaking of resistance, it seems like Broussard
and everyone else have disappeared for awhile. They’re staying low for now. The new boss of Homeland, Dan Bennett, forces
Jennifer to give him something or she will be replaced. He even threatened her by having her house
searched. Jennifer was forced to confront Katie to give
up Broussard. Katie reminds her that she was Will’s friend
and he trusted her. I wonder when it finally comes down to her
job or Will’s family, who will she choose? What do you think Jennifer will do? When I saw Charlie in the season 1 Finale,
I thought he really is Will and Katie’s son. He was such a badass and I wondered how come
Bram and Gracie are so different. But in this episode, Bram grew on me when
he showed how smart he is. He saw how they threw his teacher on the bus
to the factory just because he wasn’t useful to them. So, he immediately lied about his occupation. I wonder what he will do when he will actually
have to work in the construction. Katie and Madison had a fight over Nolan. Madison believes that he is doing everything
in his power to keep Bram out of the factory. He lied to Madison. It wasn’t Nolan who saved Bram. If Bram hadn’t lied about his work, I have
no doubt he‘d have been sent to the Factory. Nolan took advantage of that and lied to Madison
that he was the one who saved him and sent him to the Labour Camp. And we see Madison getting initiated into
the inner Circle, into something called “the Greatest Day”. When she touched this alien box, for a second,
she saw this light. I had a feeling she even felt light and everything
like in the 5th Wave. She was smiling when she came back. Although, one of the conditions for joining
them is if she ever betrayed their secrets, the punishment will fall upon EVERYONE she
loves. And that includes the Bowmen family too. I just know that Madison won’t be to handle
everything. She will finally give up the secrets to Katie. At least she is in now. If they all work together, they might be able
to find a way to defeat the hosts. Anyways, this Greatest Day seems to be a big
event, something HUGE. Lindsey is also preparing the kids for this
day. I think she was the one who told Gracie that
his dad and brother aren’t coming home because she is not working hard enough for the greatest
day. My theory is that on the Greatest Day, the
hosts will finally come down to the earth. To actually start living in it. Will also suspects that the Occupation wants
a constant stream of people for the Factory. I think they will allow the kids and the humans
who are useful to stay and will send the rest of them to the Factory. What do you think this Greatest Day is? We finally get to see what happened to the
people outside the LA Bloc. The Occupation made a deal with the warlords. The warlords have to send a certain number
of people every month to them, probably to send to the factory. In return, the redhats will leave them alone. And the quota has been increasing lately. In the LA Bloc, they can only send people
who have done something wrong. If someone even sneezes in the wrong direction,
they send them to the Factory. But Out there, where they didn’t have to
maintain a facade of being fair, they just grab whatever people the warlords hand them
over and send them to the Factory. We know that the Factory is out in the space,
but we don’t know if it’s a spaceship or the moon. In my opinion, it seemed like a spaceship,
but it could be on moon too. Where do you think it is? As for Will, he finally found Charlie. He gave the Transit pass, his only ticket
out of this hellhole, for his son and Solomon had the guts to say he’d be losing on the
deal, but he gives his location anyways because he knows that Charlie will come back. Like he said he broke him. BTW why does this guy always have to be a
douchebag? In The 100, he tried to kill a bunch of grounders
AND the skykru. Anyways, I loved how Will took out every member
of Solomon’s gang and finally kicked his ass. But when he killed Solomon and searched him
for the pass, it wasn’t there, which leads me to believe that he is not Solomon. It’s someone else. I think he was just pretending to be Solomon. He died too easily. Why else would he give the Transit pass to
someone else? I still think Devon might be Solomon. So, What do you think will happen on “The
Greatest Day”? Do you think that guy was the real Solomon
and what do you Jennifer will do? Save her job or give up Katie? Don’t forget to tell us your thoughts in
