“Massage de pieds”. Oh, let’s go! Hi! How are you? So, today, I’m going to take you
to “my” Montreal. Do you want to go first? No, you go first. If you crash,
I’m not not going to follow. Okay, let’s do this. That’s as fast as you can go? No, I don’t know what happened! Okay, we’re entering
the Vieux-Montréal. This is fantastic. Let’s go back into the lane. More! Three, two! You made it,
you’re pretty good at this. I really love this, actually. You see,
“Centre d’histoire de Montréal”. It used to be
a “caserne de pompiers”. What a beautiful fire station
though! Yes! I just love it, because… I’m small, maybe. So, this is a very cute street. My favourite street. Okay, I’m taking you
to my second home. Look, it’s called
“Maison Espace Pepin.” I love it. Because I don’t know how to turn
a house into a home. Yes? You go in there,
and you go crazy. I recognize it right away
by the smell of it. This is gorgeous,
I want to burglar it. I love that. The plates, they’re nice, huh? I need a wheeled cart
to get out of here, because I just want
to take everything. It smells like a really good
summer cucumber cocktail. Yeah, exactly! “Be creative, inspire, start over!” That’s fantastic. You know, this is the best place
to have lunch or coffee. Okay, so we’re going to share. Yes. Oh my God! Oh come on. That is so exquisite. I think, for so many people, food is the first contact
to new cultures. People haven’t been in Vietnam, they haven’t been
in North Africa, but they will have the food and they will begin
to get an idea, And to fall in love right away! I mean, it’s maybe
a strange thing to say, but this dish is so Montreal. You’ve got this incredible
North African nomadic influence, and then we’ve got blueberries. I mean, “les bleuets”! It’s such a “Québécois”, Montreal
thing, and it works. Of course, this is fiesta. This is paradise. I cook so much,
that’s how I got into food. But also, cooking dishes
that I’d known all my life. And also I think food
is not just about food, right? Food is about the environment
where you had that meal, and you remember it because
of the family. I don’t know if I’m going to be
able to eat meat balls ever again without thinking
of these, because every time we eat,
I think we make new memories. So I will always remember
that it was with you. You’ll always picture me
when you see a meat ball?
With prunes! What a fantastic street, Kim! Let’s go for the bagel! A Montreal classic! That’s really good! Ready for the sweet tooth? Absolutely. So, I’m taking you
to an ice cream place, but it’s special
because of the flavours. Yeah, “miel et fleur d’oranger”. You like? It’s really good! Your flavours are spectacular. Look at this, this is beautiful! Oh my God, that is good. Thank you! So, this is my little Montreal. I love it,
I love what you’ve shown me. There’s such an incredible
kind of, intimacy to those places we’ve gone, and they’ve been completely
unexpected. I love it. Thank you.
