Find a family in the census – Breaking Down Brick Walls

Hi, I’m Mark Bayley from TheGenealogist, In
this short Video I’ll show you how you can find a family in the census when other searches
are yielding too many or too little results From the master search Select to search for
a family you then have the option of picking a year of census and also a county however
were just going to pick the 1911 census across all counties as I’m not quite sure where the
family are living you have the option to enter a surname or a few letters and a wildcard
however I’m just going to leave this blank for now we’re going to search for the name
of Sherlock I then have the option to search for a year of birth and relation such as head,
wife, son or daughter but I’m going to leave that blank I’ll then add Sherlock’s brother
Mycroft I can add as many family members as I wish
you are then shown a list of results giving
you further details about each family i have the option to view the household transcript
or indeed view the original image and here we can see Sherlock and Mycroft living together
with the rest of the family in the Yorkshire 1911 census thanks for watching!
