This one’s like a Lineage history room. It goes all the way from the Waldensians to the 18th century. This is the house of Marie Durand – family home. Marie Durand was a well, she was just a nobody really. She was locked up in prison for 38 years
because her brother was a pastor. So he was the pastor. He was actually shot and killed
maybe two years after he was imprisoned. But she was a prisoner 38 years and this is where she came to live in her old age before she died. It turned into a Huguenot monument in time. So, it’s pretty amazing because she didn’t do the things that all of these men did, but she still resisted and refused to compromise, recant, I guess you’d say. So in many ways, I think she is more like most people who watch our videos than others, in that she wasn’t specially educated, trained, just was caught up when she least expected it. Adam: He wasn’t Glasgow. Aiko: Who? Adam: John Knox Ashley: They probably did the wiring first and then… Adam: They were like, oh man, goes to the wrong place. (Recording: And was protected by Frederick of Saxony.
He was the founder of Lutheranism.) Aiko: God bless you Museum caretaker: Merci Adam: No, not chill in Montpelier. Adam: Eat in Montpelier. Ashley: Yeah Clive: Hey, I don’t know about you,
but I’m going to the beach. Ashley: Allez à la plage! Clive: Still farther?

Jeremie: Hahaha. Yes, it’s my… Jeremie: In Spain, yeah.
Others: Wow… Clive Sr: He’s a biker like you both. Adam: Ha, not like me, not like me. [laughs] Jeremie: That’s why he’s fitter than me. [chuckling] Jeremie: So, sit. Clive Sr: Bon appétit! Others: Bon appétit! Cheese! Fromage! [chuckling] Jeremie: Shower Jeremie: Toilets Clive: Uh, where’s the power? Jeremie: There is no power here. Clive: Oh… Clive: We have to charge all the batteries, otherwise we can’t go anywhere tomorrow. Jeremie: All of your batteries, yeah… [nervous chuckling] Clive: Oh man… Clive: Stuff has to be changed over. [rooster crowing] [big yawn] [chicken sounds] Eden: Good morning. Aiko: Good morning
Adam: ‘Mornin’ [laughter] Anton: That was a fail. Ashley: It’s the way you said it so oh yeah I’m good Clive: Aw, I want a shoot with that boat going past. Anton: Ready Clive?
Clive: Yeah, I’m good to go. Adam: Look at that cat! Look look look… Ashley: It’s a cat burglar. Register, the French word for resist,

Marie’s brother was a Huguenot pastor who held worship services in his home… And for this reason she was taken from her home as a recently married teenager and thrown into prison in the year 1730. Marie’s brother Pierre would be killed by gunshot soon after, but her life would turn out very different. Clive: Cut Clive: Is watching what? a life cut Wow Eden: The live cat watching the dead cat Clive: Oh yeah, the live cat watching the dead cat [chuckling] Clive: What’d ya…What did you do to my brother?
